Vegas Baby! SDE, TPT, & A Slumber Party…oh my!

How long can a post be?  …because this one might exceed the limit. As y'all know, Vegas is one of my absolute most favorite weeks of the year!…..!!!!!!!!! (You get the idea?)  Now, I know you have all seen Vegas pictures swirling everywhere. Believe me, this is just our little way of twisting your arm and talking you into joining us next year! :)

I mean who wouldn't want to spend the week with these insane slightly crazy beautiful people?

(We might have hosted an ugly face contest at dinner one night! Can you name these bloggers?!?)

Seriously, I look so forward to having a week long slumber party with my girls where we are surrounded by the energy of thousands of teachers! I mean it honestly doesn't get any better than that! If you didn't make it this year, start saving that cash! You must join us next year. I promise…you won't be disappointed for one second. So in this post, I am going to relive a few of my most favorite Vegas memories!

One of the main reasons I love Vegas? I love people! More specifically, I love teachers, and I especially love meeting new teachers and engaging in "teacher talk" for hours. In Vegas, there is never a shortage on teachers. It was so wonderful to be in the presence of such phenomenal educators.

Thank you so much for all of the instagram shots since I never had my phone around! I tried to find as many as I could, but if I missed you, please email the picture to me: secondgradeshenanigans@gmail.com.

These people right here are the absolute best! Loved meeting every single one of them!

Then we had the blogger meet-up! Holy 600+ people!! Talk about a fun group...

…and let's be honest, the teacher swag was out of control at this year's meet-up! A HUGE thank you goes out to all of our sponsors!

I also love that I get to spend time with some of my favorite people. I so Love experiencing Vegas with them every single year. It's never the same and there is never a dull moment!

(I sorta stole this picture from Amy Lemons because I love her so much! :)

(This year, we celebrated Rachelle's 100 pound weight loss journey! So stinkin' proud of this girl! We surprised her at the end of her last workshop with matching workout tanks!)

(I was not kidding about the slumber party! Take note of how many people we had in our room! Actually, don't take note…and don't tell the Plazzo! ;) )

Meeting bloggy buds that you've only seen from behind a computer screen is AWESOME! These people are just as sweet in person as they are on their blogs!

Erin Klein has it all…beauty, brains, and creativity. So excited that I was able to pick her brain over dinner!

I also got to meet Kelly and Diane from Made for First Grade. These ladies are a riot. I had so much fun with them at dinner!

As if all of that wasn't enough, this year I was invited by SDE to present at the National I Teach 1st Conference. I am 99.999% certain that the teachers in my session thought that I was on something because I might have made a grand entrance in a costume. I also made them play dress-up, walk a runway, and get active with a little game of twister. They may never invite me back! ;)

Thanks instagram (and friends) for the pictures. I am glad you felt the need to share my craziness with the world! ;)

On Friday, we joined TPT conference and well, it was just amazing. I am so blessed to be a small part in such an amazing company!

GO #TEAMTPT

Did I mention that I met Paul (the founder of TPT)?!? And that we made him get all dirty on the floor for a picture?!? #bestmomentever

And to top it all of…this definitely happened.

Yes, that is confetti cake. Yes, that is ice cream in between each layer. No, I don't regret this decision one single bit!

This trip is a must every year. I literally schedule my entire summer around Vegas because it is way too much fun to miss. That means that I am looking forward to seeing every single one of you at the 2015 Vegas Meet-up! Until next time Vegas….

  5. I really wanted to go to Vegas this year, and was so close, but couldn't go in the end. Here's my question: do you have to be a TpT seller to go? Can you just be a blogger and still go to the conference? I am the worst blogger, but I am an excellent follower...And I am also a great purchaser on TpT, I just don't make anything sale worthy. But I would LOVE to meet the people I follow and I absolutely LOVE teacher conferences because I love to learn and improve my skills as a teacher.
    Thanks!
