Fall Into Literacy Centers {New Unit}

Just checking...Will anyone else be glued to the television screen tonight waiting to see who our next "Commander-in-Chief" will be??? Or am I alone??? It's a good thing that I have a lot of work to keep me busy!

I am super excited about my newest unit that I *just* uploaded to TPT. There are so many skills that I want to cover/review before we take off for Thanksgiving break, and so I thought that literacy centers may be the best way to fit it all in (to our two measly weeks). Plus, they are all fall themed and will bring all of the wonderful things about fall into the classroom! An even bigger PLUS, I have also been trying to get my feet wet in all of this Common Core business, so I made sure that these activities will not only meet my kiddos needs as we work towards mastery of our state standards, but they are also aligned to the new CC standards too! What can I say...I feel accomplished! Be proud with me! ;)

So...take a look!

The ten skills in this pack reinforce:

- Parts of Speech (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs), Spelling Strategies, Prefixes, Suffixes, Simple, Compound, and Complex Sentences, Dictionary Skills, Character Traits/Inferences, First and Third Person Point of View, ABC Order,
Common and Proper Nouns

I can't wait to get this ready for my kiddos this week! You can click {HERE} to pick this up in my TPT shop!

And just in case you need a little fall lovin' added to your math time, you can also check

Okay, one final thing before I leave you tonight...so many of you have emailed about the post that I wrote about Reader's Workshop towards the beginning of the school year! I want you to know that I have been working on a *HUGE* file that will help you implement RWS into an elementary classroom! I am hoping to be finished with this in the next two weeks, but it is taking FOR.E.VER! FOREVER! I promise...I am working on it for all of you! ;)

Coming Soon...

Happy Election Day, sweet friends!

  1. I am seriously IN.LOVE. with all of your stuff. I was going through my TPT files the other day and I own just about all of yours. I'm so excited that when I moved from 2nd to 4th this year, I could still use your materials with my kids. So much of what I purchased last year from others wasn't adaptable for my 4th graders. I cannot wait for the RWS file! I'm just starting up lit centers in my class this week. =]

    Thank you SO much for sharing your ideas!
