Stuck in the Middle: A Collaborative Periscope Crew

Eeek! Y'all...I am so EXCITED! Let me tell you why...

Many of you know that I began my blogging journey when I taught second grade and my blog was called Second Grade Shenanigans. Then I moved onto third grade with my sweet littles. Now, well....now I am all the way in 5th and 6th, and I am kinda having the middle child syndrome. :)

You know. You just can't seem to find the right fit. Maybe you just transitioned and haven't found the perfect blogs to follow. Your primary strategies just aren't working for you...yet your kids still desire that engagement much like they found in the early years. Can I just say that as much as I am loving upper elementary and middle school, these kids are the weirdest kids on the planet. {And I mean that in the nicest way possible!} Ha! Seriously though, the only people that share in this understanding are all of my friends teaching grades 5-8. Can I get an amen?!

If you are feeling that same kind of way, boy do I have something just for you, my friends. Finally...a place where all middle grade people belong, and it's all just for you! ;)

Get excited!!!

Are you excited yet?!?

How about.....Now?!?

Okay! Okay!

I am teaming up with 8 phenomenal upper elementary and middle school bloggers to bring you some 'best of the best' tips, tricks, and ideas that will be perfect for your middle grades classroom. I give you...Stuck in the Middle: A brand new Periscope channel! Just take a look at these amazing women!

Alright. Now I KNOW you are excited! But hold the phone. It gets even better.

Don't have time to read blogs throughout the week when you are trying to create lesson plans, get the kids to soccer practice, perhaps blog, cook dinner, iron clothes, do laundry....you get the idea?!? Well....

All of these ideas will be brought to you through Periscope. That's right. These tips will be LIVE videos that will be 5 minutes long. No reading required. Just tune in live, turn up the volume, and continue on with your cooking, baking, and ironing antics.

Can't catch it when it goes live?!? No problem. On Periscope, you can watch the video for up to 24 hours after the video goes live. How great is that?

Now don't be afraid. Periscope is by far one of the easiest apps I have ever used. So go ahead and getcha an account and follow our collaborative Periscope page. Oh and you can follow us on other social media accounts as well for more ideas and classroom fun.

So...throw that middle child syndrome feeling out the window and get ready for some fun! Every single one of these ladies are so passionate about finding ways to engage in those middle grades. I can't wait to learn from every single one of them.

Can't wait to see you for our first LIVE Periscope this Sunday, July 19th.

You can check out all of our amazing authors below.

  6. Yay! Loving that you're creating a place to talk, just for those of us who are in the middle. As a sixth grade teacher, I'm thrilled! Looking forward to seeing what you're all about!
